Junior Business Developer | The Hague / The Netherlands |Fulltime

HiiL, a social enterprise that works to enhance access to justice through innovation, is looking for a Junior Business Developer.

As our Junior Business Developer you will join our Business Development (BD) department and contribute to ensuring our funding base is growing and becomes more diverse. You will help to create new partnerships to make sure our work can sustainably grow. You will support the team in the design and implementation of the BD team’s work plan.

In this position:

  • You are supporting the BD team in many ways: logistically - plan team meetings, external appointments  and trips and take notes of those - but also content wise: prepare presentations, pitches and project proposals;
  • You will support account management, research donor strategies and priorities and prepare communications with current and potential donors;
  • You are responsible for implementing the Client Relation Management strategy and monitor the organisational wide procedures on the use of that system;
  • You ensure that BD results are well reflected in our systems, amongst others in our project management system (Click-up) and our CRM system (Insightly). In both systems you work on building reports so we can extract relevant data.  

Our new colleague:

  • Has 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar support position, preferably in an international environment;
  • Knowledge of international development donors, both in the public (institutional donors) as well as the private spheres (foundations, companies) is a major asset;
  • Has experience in writing project proposals and/or preparing pitches and presentations;
  • Has strong IT skills;
  • Has the energy and focus to work on different projects at the same time while keeping the overview in a calmly manner;
  • Enjoys being part of a team with a healthy mix of strategic/analytical focus and booking practical results;
  • Has full professional proficiency in English; verbally and written. Knowledge of Dutch, French, and Arabic are an extra asset;
  • Has good writing skills, able to write concise, clear and attractive stories/pitches and emails;
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, is proactive and hands-on;
  • Is able to work under time pressure.

What else:

  • Starting date: Asap but not later than June 1, 2021.
  • We offer a full time (40 hours) starting position for an initial period of 6 months with the aim of building a long-term work relationship.
  • Holding EU-citizenship or NL working permit.
  • A monthly salary for a full-time working week between € 2.200,- / € 2.450,- gross based on relevant experience.
  • You will become part of a dynamic and international team of 70+ professionals.
