Project Manager | The Hague | Full-time

HiiL, a social enterprise that works to enhance access to justice through innovation, is looking for a senior Project Manager based in The Hague, The Netherlands.

As a Project Manager, you develop and implement the HiiL projects, in cooperation  with HiiL’s Programme Directors and Practices Groups (Justice Research, Justice Transformation and Justice Innovation) to achieve the project goals agreed with specific funders who contribute to HiiL’s Mission.

The position:

  • Develops the project plan together with the Programme Director and assesses the content with the Business Development department, the donor/client and the leads of the various HiiL Practices, presenting the project plan to the donor/client for approval. 
  • Realises the project, within budget, conforming to the project plan and donor contract, in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Supports in staffing and financial resourcing of the project, both in terms of quality and quantity.
  • Pro-actively mitigates risks and change requests in order to be administratively compliant.
  • Provides quality reporting in a timely manner to management and donors.
  • Adjusts or expands the budget and related activities when needed.
  • Ensures the delivery of knowledge materials.
  • Secures coherence with HilL's mission, the different Practices and between projects.

Our new colleague:

  • 6+ years of proven work experience as a project manager in teams with international professionals, preferably in a non-profit context.
  • Project Management Certification is an asset.
  • Experience in drafting budgets, using spreadsheet software (Excel, Google Sheets) and strong numerical skills.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive and hands-on.
  • Problem solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with different (European-based) donors.
  • The ability to communicate with people from all levels. 
  • Strong leadership and team building skills as well as a high level of ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent English is a must, being able to work in a Francophone context is a strong asset.
  • Preferably experience working with projects based abroad.
  • Flexibility, ability and willingness to travel frequently to the areas where HiiL works, including potentially unstable environments.

What else:

  • Starting date: 1st May 2022 (or sooner if possible)
  • We offer a full time position for an initial period of 1 year with the aim of building a long-term work relationship.
  • Holding EU-citizenship or NL working permit.
  • A monthly salary for a full-time working week between € 3.200,- / € 5.000,- based on relevant experience.
