Social Media and Digital Communications Officer |The Hague | Full time

The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) is an organisation dedicated to ensuring justice is accessible, affordable and easy to understand. We co-developed a new way of working called people-centred justice programming.  This means building justice systems that are built around the needs of people. Those needs include safe and stable societies where economic prosperity, innovation and entrepreneurship can thrive. We operate in multiple countries. Our current programmes are active in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Niger, Burkina Faso.

We are looking for a Social Media and Digital Communications Officer to manage our social media platforms, implement strategies to boost visibility, and connect with our target audiences worldwide. You’ll collaborate with our Communications & Advocacy team on developing compelling social media content, optimize digital campaigns, and analyze performance to amplify our mission of people-centered justice.

How will you contribute to HiiL’s mission?
In this position, you will;

  • Support the development of engaging digital content tailored to HiiL’s target audiences.
  • Support the execution of the Communication Strategy across digital channels, ensuring consistency in messaging and objectives.

Social Media Management:

  • Update and manage HiiL’s social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook,).
  • Regularly post content to promote HiiL’s projects and impact
  • Engage with online communities, responding to comments and fostering positive interactions.

Performance Analysis and Optimization:

  • Track and analyze  performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Social media analytics)
  • Create performance reports and user insights to optimize digital campaigns and improve engagement.

Website Management and Digital marketing:

  • Optimise website content, meta tags, headers, and URLs for SEO optimization.
  • Manage HiiL’s Google Ads Grant 
  • Update the website regularly with new blog posts and other relevant content.

Other:

  • Keep up-to-date with emerging and trending best practices in social media and information technologies.
  • Share with colleagues knowledge of trends and developments in communications.

What we look for in our new colleague: 

  • Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in digital communications, social media management, or a related field.
  • Education: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a relevant discipline.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of French is highly desirable.
  • Tech Savviness: Familiarity with digital tools, social media platforms, and information technologies.  Always eager to learn about emerging trends and technologies.
  • Global Mindset: Comfortable working for a global organization, collaborating with teams across different continents and time zones, and navigating diverse cultural contexts. 
  • You preferably have working experience in Non-Governmental Organisation; 
  • You hold an EU-citizenship or NL working permit;

What we offer: 

  • A full-time (40 hours p.w.) position for an initial period of 12 months with the aim of building a long-term work relationship;
  • A monthly salary for a full-time working week between € 2.700,- / € 4.000,- based on relevant experience and seniority;
  • Up to 8 weeks of holidays when working full-time;
  • NS Business train card for commuting;
  • Company laptop.
